Book Salvador Dalí: Impossible collection by Assouline
Description
In the popular imagination, perhaps no other artist's work is more recognizable than that of Salvador Dalí. Indeed, for many, he is the quintessential mad artist, whose singular vision remorselessly plumbed his own psychological depths. His nightmarish visions and bizarre landscapes express the anguish and turbulence of the 20th century. Dalí's creativity embraced many different modes of expression and was never constrained by any particular style. For eight decades, Dalí's prodigious range of activities covered every medium imaginable, from painting and drawing to sculpture, cinema, furniture, books, stage design and jewelry, not to mention his personality very eccentric public, which could be considered an art form in itself.
Selected by curator and art historian Paul Moorhouse, Assouline presents Salvador Dalí: The Impossible Collection, highlighting 100 works by this extraordinary creative mind, exploring Dalí's inspirations and range of influences, from the Old Masters to realism, through impressionism, fauvism and cubism as well as experimental experiments. approaches that delved into his obsessions with religion, science and stereoscopy.
Made in Italy. Exclusive white gloves and canvas tote bag are included with every purchase of an Ultimate Collection book.
