Book The Light of New York by Assouline
Description
How do you capture the city that never sleeps in spooky moments of serenity? That's exactly what award-winning photographer Jean-Michel Berts does in this epic, visual piece from the world's greatest city. At dawn, the streets of New York resonate with a life of their own: muted, subdued and mysterious. This is precisely the moment that Jean-Michel Berts chose to capture. The city's greatest monuments and views are captured here like never before, framed by Jean-Michel Berts' camera obscura. The buildings, the bridges, the completely deserted streets, and even its trees and empty flights of stairs take on a poetic, ethereal, almost dreamlike quality. Much more than an anthem, this photographic gem is a moving tribute to the greatest city in the world, seen as a masterwork of a virtuoso sculptor. Each print has ample breathing space in a gift volume whose opulent size suits the spectacular quality of the photographs.
